Video game sprites made out of beads are a strange concept, but if you think about it, they are a perfect combination: Each bead represents one pixel. Fogie Perler realized this and made a ton of sweet 8bit and 16bit video game sprites out of all sorts of colorful beads. He explains the process briefly on his Flickr feed, so if you are looking for something crafty to do with your time, it should give you a nice foundation to get you started.

I’ve seen quite a few people selling these on Etsy. It was something I toyed with in the early days of my shop, but fortunately enough nerds love my hard drives that I didn’t have to expand into perler beads.
These actually looks really cool. I was wondering if I should do them. Did you have any success selling them?
