Team Shell Shocked crafted this gigantic Koopa Troopa flying machine for this year’s Red Bull Flugtag event at Miami Bayfront Park. The team is comprised of 5 friends from Jacksonville, Florida.

Remember those old Nintendo World Championships from back in the days? When we used to compete against some of the best players in the country at Super Mario Kart, NBA Jam, and even Tetris? Well, it seems Nintendo hasn’t forgotten either and have recently announced the Wii Games Summer 2010 Tour. This time you will create your own team of badass players to go against other teams in games such as New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Sports Resorts, Wii Fit Plus, and Mario Kart Wii. The tour starts this July 16th so start practicing! Check out Nintendo’s official website for participating cities and full details: http://www.wiigames2010.com/

This year’s South Florida Supercon 2010 totally blew me away. There were more events, more guests, more vendors, more of everything! My only 2 gripes were that the vendor area closed way too early and that the vender area didn’t seem as organized as last year. Other than that it was a spectacular event. Tons of more people cosplayed and there was so much to see that it was kind of overwhelming. The video game area was lacking a bit this year as well. Seeing how E3 was just a week before Supercon I’m pretty certain many of the people responsible for the awesome setup last year were still recovering from E3.

The Supercon Championship Wrestling was definitely the highlight of the show in my opinion! With Cosplayers wrestling as Cobra Commander, Batman, Chun-li, The Joker, and even King Hippo from Punch-Out! With only a short time to check out the vendor floor I wasn’t able to check out everything this year. Maybe next year? The 3000 Brigade Super Smash Bros. Super Show was pretty good as well but it’ll never outdo last years. Can’t wait for next years event!

Capcom is on a roll on the Nintendo 3DS. Now they have their mega hit Resident Evil Revelations also on the way for the Nintendo 3DS! Good job Capcom!

SquareEnix has also released a handful of screens of their upcoming hit Kingdom Hearts for the Nintendo 3DS! Not much else is known about the title but we definitely want to buy a Nintendo 3DS for this game!

Konami just released these new pictures of Metal Gear Solid 3DS. Enjoy! Check out more here:

I know you guys are jut as stoked as I am to see Donkey Kong Country Returns developed by Retro Studios! The game was officially announced by Nintendo to come out this Holiday 2010 for the Nintendo Wii!

Microsoft finally unveiled Kinect at their E3 2010 conference yesterday. Kinect is their XBOX 360 motion-based answer to the Nintendo Wii. Some of the games announced at the press conference included:

  • Dance Central
  • Kinectimals
  • Kinect Sports
  • Kinect Joyride
  • Your Shape: Fitness Evolved
  • Kinect Adventures
  • Zumba Fitness
  • Sonic Freeriders
  • Forza 3
  • Metal Gear Solid Rising Sword Fighting
  • Kingdom

While Kinect shows a lot of promise, in my opinion, Microsoft didn’t showcase a triple A title that can show what can be done with this new technology. Your Shape: Fitness Evolved did show off how your virtual self can be used within a game to control the menus, but there were no shooters, adventure, or RPG games to showoff how developers can use this tech to their advantage. Overall, the games aren’t too bad. Kinect Sports is Rare’s take on Wii Sports and knowing Rare they will take the concept a step further and with tight gameplay. Kinect is scheduled to be released this November 4th with rumors flying around that it will cost $149.

Solar Powered Wii!

This weekend while checking out the Miami Goin’ Green Earth Festival I ran into this little gem. A Solar Powered Nintendo Wii from a company called My Solar Wind & Lighting, Inc. Their website seems to need a little polish but you can check them out here: http://www.mysolargenerator.com/

Its always encouraging to see the little guys trying to make a difference in helping our environment!
