EVO Tournament Sticks: Pocket Fighter

If you are a true fighting game fan you were at this year’s EVO competition in Las Vegas. If you were a true HARDCORE fighting game fan, you played at the competition with a custom-designed fighting game stick. Our very own Daniel Lopez was a witness first-hand to the plethora of these deliciously-designed fighting game controllers and he snapped some pictures for us to share with you our readers. There is an even an insanely cool fighting game stick featuring the cast of Pocket Fighters with flashing lights (video below). We would like to give credit to the owners of each of these, so if you happen to be one of them, email us by sonic booming our contact button above.

Chris Brown Vs Rihanna

We are not big fans of either Chris Brown or Rihanna, but we do love a good fighting game reference. Video courtesy of JustJustinTV.

Mortal Kombat Blood and Thunder Comics

Very few people know that there is a plethora of video game-based comic books in the wild. Most can be had for great prices. So, I recently decided to actively add to my puny collection of comic books based on video games to display by love for both hobbies. My next target is the Mortal Kombat: Blood and Thunder comic series, which was published by Malibu Comics back in 1994. It basically takes place in the first Mortal Kombat universe while taking a lot of liberty with “What If” scenarios.

There is a terrible article on this series at Wikipedia, but for those interested it is one of the only few places with at least SOME information.

Mortal Kombat Cake

Before you pull someone’s spine out at your birthday party, how about your settle your rage by eating some Mortal Kombat!!!!!!!!!!! cake instead? designbybyn has produced a lovely butter cream cake with a clever use of a gradient behind the Mortal Kombat!!!!!!!!!!!! dragon just like the logo. The 3D effect on the dragon is nice too.
